I decided to incorporate this bottom navigation bar into Gmail and provide additional functionality to it by adding in top views of the user's calendar, google drive and contacts.
This would allow a user to quickly access important sections of their Google Life and create new ways to send emails such as:
- Find a file and quickly share it via email within the application itself
- Select a date and add an event and send out an email invite or set a reminder to send out an email on a particular day
- Find a contact and carry on a particular conversation with them
